The WCMSA takes an active role in supporting better health in the Rockford Community. Current projects include:

  • Rockford Health Careers Foundation

Established in 1954, the Rockford Health Careers Foundation was formed to promote health care education in Winnebago County. Each year, RHCF grants scholarships to students in many health related fields, including medical and nursing schools, radiography and more. To date, more than $450,000 in scholarships have been awarded. Interested in applying for a scholarship? For more information, qualifying criteria and an application, e-mail RHCF President Barbara D'Souza through our Contact Us Form.

  • The Alliance for Community Health

The Alliance for Community Health, Inc. is the 501c3 not-for-profit branch of the Alliance. Funding is supplied through grants, gifts and Charisma, the Alliance’s principal fundraiser. Formed in 2000, ACHI distributes grants to community service projects fitting our criteria.  ACHI has given more than $50,000 to local service projects.  Grant winners are announced each year at Charisma, the WCMSA’s annual spring luncheon.  Contact Robin Roegner for more information.

  • Rx: Prescription Read to Your Child

A lifelong love of reading is fostered by Rx: Read to Your Child. Each year, Alliance members choose and stock books at Crusader Clinic’s multiple locations, where they are distributed by physicians to babies and children as they grow. The books chosen are high quality and age appropriate, and are enthusiastically received by children and parents. Rx: Read to Your Child is funded through ACHI.
